About the owner

My name is Chris Duncan. I was an ESPN X Games pro BMXer and mountain biker for 10 years. Some career accomplishments include being a character in a PlayStation BMX video game, setting 3 world records and doing the mechanics on all my competition bikes. I've conducted countless classes on mountain bike and urban cycling techniques, gave speeches on the culture of BMX and done Q&A's all over the world on bikes designed from my input.  The mechanics and fitness of the sport have given me the creativity to inspire, motivate and educate. Hooptybikes is my portal to the love of daily cycling.

Since BMX bikes are made of steel I naturally appreciate the craftsmanship of vintage road bikes. The appeal of meshing classic high-end steel frames with a twist of simple commuter function always motivates me to restore every bike in its own special way.

In addition to vintage bicycle restoration I also do general bicycle repair. Tuneups, component installations and various fixes to common bicycle part problems is what I do.
You can book an appointment in the shop or you can enjoy the comprehensive service of a mobile repair. Call me right now and I'll pick up. Ok, maybe I won't, but wouldn't be cool if I did. If I don't answer I'm probably fixing some ones bike or in the hot tub, but I'll definitely call you back. Bikes are my life !
