My name is Chris Duncan. I was a pro BMXER in the mid 90's to mid 2000's. I was a competitor in a disciplined event called Dirt Jumping. My endeavors spanned the globe and were featured on the ESPN X-games and Gravity Games on NBC. After I retired from competition in 2003 I became a full-time mountain bike instructor. In the past I mainly expressed myself physically as a sponsored cycling athlete, but now I’ve shifted to other avenues. Today, I still ride mountain bikes, BMX from time to time and actually perform stand up comedy. However, most of my time is devoted to the Hoopties. Since BMX bikes are made of steel I naturally appreciate the craftsmanship of vintage road bikes. Despite how cool it sounds, BMXING to work isn't practical.. The appeal of meshing classic high-end steel frames with a twist of simple commuter function always motivates me to restore every bike in its own special way..
“I’m on the Mystery ship and I’m enjoying the ride.”
